About Team17 Software Worms Game
The Worms Game is a video game that features a number of unique and bizarre weapons and a band of feisty little worms. Worms the Game uses odd animation and bright landscapes to create a wacky and wild war-like game for all ages.
Developed by Team17 Software, Worms the Game is a series of turn-based computer games. This means, the flow of the game is partitioned into precise and visible parts called turns or rounds. Here’s how Worms the Game works:
Each player in the game controls a small platoon of animated worms. The platoons battle other computer-controlled worms or player controlled worms across a reshapable landscape. Although the game is war-based, the animation is humorous. During the course of the game players take turns choosing their worms and whatever tools and weapons they prefer in order to kill the opponents worms. Once they kill all of the opponents’ worms, they win the game. The worms move about by walking, jumping, bungee jumping, and by using ninja ropes. The players have to think fast because each move is timed. The players can’t waste time thinking, if they do – they are out of the game!
So how do worm’s get killed or die? The worms die when:
- A worm’s health is reduced to zero
- A worm enters the water by falling off the island or through a hole
- A worm is thrown off of either side of the arena
Worms the Game has more than fifty weapons at the player’s disposal. Many of these weapons spawn from inside jokes or they are inspired by popular TV programs and movies. A good example is the Holy Hand Grenade, which was inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Just a few weapons include:
