One of our readers is very concerned about the worm-like creatures that are invading his daughter’s home. He said that she has orange worms coming out of her shower walls. He described them as being about three inches in length, long and round. He did mention that she lives in east Texas and just wants to make sure that they are not dangerous to her health. He did not include a picture with his email, so it is difficult to identify these worms.
We can rule out larvae because the worm-like creatures are three inches long. This makes them almost too long to be any type of larvae. These worms could be a type of worm species such as earthworms. Earthworms are generally red and brown in color, but could also have an orange tone to them. If these creatures have a lot of legs, there is also a possibility that they could be millipedes. It seems fairly unlikely that these worm-like creatures have any health risks to our reader’s daughter, but without a picture, to say for sure, plus we are not medical professionals so we can’t advise on health risks.
Since these creatures are coming out of the shower walls, there is clearly a gap where they are getting in and the gap needs to be sealed so that they will stop coming into the shower. It would be a great idea to clean the gap then let it dry completely and have it sealed off. This could help our reader’s daughter to get rid of these creatures forever.
