A reader sent us a video of a worm-like organism she found some bed sheets. The video reveals a tiny black creature that moves in typical worm fashion. The organism is so small that it is hard to determine if it has any other identifying features. It sort of appears to have a thick upper body and a thin tail, almost like a tadpole, but we do not know for certain.
Based on the size of this creature, we are pretty sure it is not a worm, but some type of larvae. We aren’t sure what type of larvae, but it is likely some species of fly larvae, or perhaps flea larvae.
Unfortunately, our ideas don’t go beyond some type of larvae. Our reader should clean the bed sheets, and sanitize the room to get rid of potential food sources like dust or food particles. If these larvae continue to appear, we encourage her to send a photo that better captures what these creatures look like.
To conclude, a reader found a tiny black “worm” in her bed sheets. We believe she has discovered some type of larvae.

I found an inch long black worm in my bed sheets and am concerned. How can I stop any more appearing?
Many thanks.
